All: Having gone through several mails, seen several misunderstandings and
or representations, i am putting pen to paper. To correct what i belief is
wrong.

Karamba: I totally agree with you that GRTS is not D-BEST, that it has
shortcomings which when addressed will give birth to a greater media
institution, "to represent both sides", as you called it. However, you seem
to be comparing GRTS to high standard TV stations with much expertise, and
of course resources. This is really unrealistic. Established just four-five
years ago, and having being the first-ever, i belief, GRTS has every right
to enjoy its honeymoon. You would recall, how Tv as it's known today
developed through various stages to become our sitting room friends. So it
should be with Gambia Television. Give it that chance.

Secondly, more than half the staff are below twenty seven, mostly with or
less than A'levels. Don't start developing ideas! There of-course are the
veterans; Jainaba N'yang, Neneh Macdoll, Bora Mboge, Fatou Jobe and the new
graduate team from Ghana; Kebba Dibba, Rahilu Bah, Sira Ndao, Abou Touray
and Alassan Jobe. Save these persons, the rest are the A'level grads. Are
you getting the picture i'm painting? GRTS has started much better than many
other stations around the world. It deserves the right to be given an
opportunity to expand on that progress.

With regards to both sides being heard, you have a valid point. There is
censorship, which to a larger extend is self-sanctioned rather than being an
imposition from above. And yes that is a concern. See, all these comes with
education and experience. That is why you should be patient. Another concern
is on the l: Despite the maturity of contributors, there hardly is ever a
healthy debate going on. It's always, you this, you that. Perhaps, the L
should be less hostile on persons with different opinions and let " both
sides be heard". GRTS will follow.

Musa Suso, may not be educated or a better representative for the Kombo
North constituency. But, he is the chosen one by the people and for them.
It's democracy, the choices people make are to be respected, as well as, the
persons who made them. I bet you don't like "BUSHY"? And you dare not belief
he was the best among all the candidates. Take it or leave it, he is the
most powerful man in the world today. Such is democracy.

No offense intended.
Goodnite.
Harona.
