June 1st 2002: Gambia's First President, Sir D.K. Jawara returned
home to his native Gambia today. The flight touched down at the Banjul
International Airport at 3:45am this morning. The former President
who was accompanied back home by his wife, was warmly received by
the State Guard Commander, Major L.T. Tamba and driven in a top security
convoy from the airport to his newly renovated house.
