September 6-8, 2000 Gridlock Traffic Closings - New York City

¨ First Avenue closed between 42nd and 49th Streets.  Partial closure
between 34th and 42nd Streets, shutting eastern most lanes from 8:30 am
to 6 pm

¨ FDR Drive: Periodic closures in both directions Wednesday roughly
between 34th and 63rd Streets from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm, but not during
the evening rush.  Periodic afternoon closures Thursday, but not during
rush-after periods.

¨ East 42nd, 44th and 45th Streets closed between First and Second
Avenues.

¨ No standing/parking on First Avenue between 34th and 50th Streets and
no standing/parking between 34th and 46th Streets from the East River
to Second Avenue

¨ Various street closings for President Clinton event at Metropolitan
Museum of Art, 6:30 pm Thursday

¨ Madison Ave closed between 42nd and 86th Streets from 2 pm to 11 pm
and from 86th Street to 110th Street from 5 pm to 11 pm

¨ Westbound streets closed between 72nd and 110th Streets from Madison
to Fifth Avenue
