Thanks for that awakening. Oppression transcends the domain of politics
and is rather complex and pervasive. An understanding of the psychological
intricacies of the urge for oppression and its effect on the oppressed may
help explain the depressing realism of the oppressive turn-coats you
talked about.

Liberation from oppression is not just the attainment of freedom with a
state of awareness and understanding that breaks the cultural barriers of
belief our systems - as in "Maslaha" ala Gambia, the mindsets, and the
contexts, but it must also entail the attainment of a state of wisdom and
freedom in being, thought, behavior, affection, and individual relations.

Evil, remember is in the deed, the act within a given
circumstances/environment, not in the person - we are told. Hence a
perfect gentlement can easily turn out to be the worst beast given the
perfect mix of power and environment.
