Dear Colleagues:

I would greatly appreciate it if you could distribute this information
regarding the Earth Institute Fellows Program to graduate students and
colleagues in your department.

The Earth Institute is seeking outstanding post-doctoral scholars to
apply to the Earth Institute Fellows Program. With your help, I know
we can identify the best and brightest, young post-doctoral scholars
who seek a dynamic research environment where multi-disciplinary
associations and collaborations are encouraged and supported.

The Earth Institute at Columbia University is the world's pioneer
academic center for mobilizing the sciences and public policy to build
a sustainable future, especially for the world's poor. More than 800
earth, life and social scientists and engineers work together to reduce
poverty, hunger, disease and environmental degradation. For current
information about the Earth Institute, please visit:
http://www.earth.columbia.edu

The Fellows Program has significantly expanded. Designed to provide
young innovative scholars with the opportunity to build a foundation in
one of the core disciplines represented within the Earth Institute -
namely, the social sciences, earth sciences, biological sciences,
engineering sciences and health sciences, the program offers a unique
intellectual surrounding that fosters cross-disciplinary interaction,
research and education. For more information about the Earth Institute
Fellows Program, and the online application, please visit:

Thank you for your support of this program.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey Sachs
