Subject: 2002 American MBA CLASSIFICATION (+ Gambian Students numbers)

2002 AMERICAN MBA Rankings for foreign Students

Press Release: For the Education and Economy editors : Please transmit,
thank you.

American Universities Admission Program-AUAP http://www.auap.com, the
leading organization, which helps foreign (international) students to
enter US universities, is pleased to give you its new 2002 Ranking of US
MBA This classification, made by this institution of 35+ directors of
admissions, is based on the following criteria:

1) World Image
2) Academic Reputation
3) Starting salary.

It differs from the other traditional US classifications, as it is
specially aimed at the international/foreign students who want to pursue
an American MBA.

For your information 17 (+10.6% from last year) Gambian students,
including 6 women, took the GMAT test in 2000. Their average score was
407. There were 190 291 GMAT test takers worldwide.

In total 265 students from Gambia (+112% from previous year) were
studying in 99/00 in US universities. 82.1% were at the undergraduate
level (toward a Bachelor Degree), 13.3% were at the Graduate level
(Masters/Ph.d), while the rest were post doctoral or following non
degree studies. FYI there were a total of 518,349 (+5.6%) International
students during this period in American universities.

What's new in this classification?

-Harvard lost its first place in General Ranking to Wharton of the
University of Pennsylvania.
-We added 6 new specialties classifications as we think that they are
the most useful tools for the student's selection
- We notice a general increase in average GMAT scores for the top
institutions, which became even more competitive (+/-10% rate of
acceptance). It is forecasted that enrollment to MBA will increase in
the forthcoming year due to the economic and dot com crisis.
