My daughter learned the hard way, that if you leave things in the hands of other people and still expect a particular result, disappointment can be the only outcome. Last night, she screamed angrily when Paris, at the American Idol got voted out. According to her, Paris was the best singer among the lot, and she could not understand why she was voted out. I said to her: did you vote? She stared at me and said, well no, but, but, but Dad.

 As the General elections loom, all of us in the Diaspora may not be able to vote, but we can still make a difference. Please continue to send your financial contribution to STGDP, or directly to NADD in the Gambia. In addition, in the upcoming Kombo East election, if you are from the Kombo East regions please urge your friends and family members to vote for NADD. NADD is the only party that can bring about real democracy to the Gambia. If we want change, we cannot settle for anything less. Remember one of these words: we just want an end to the PPP regime; anything is better than thirty years of the Jawara rule. Well, now we know. With NADD under the leadership of Halifa Sallah, without an iota of doubt we are close to certainty with what we are getting – the building blocs of a real democracy and rule of law.
