Majority leader apologises for 'erring' over tractor affair

Tamsir Jallow, the Majority Leader in the National Assembly has said that
since President Jammeh has 'cleared the air' regarding the controversial
tractors distributed to farmers across the country, he could only tender an
apology to the President and the Taiwanese Ambassador for 'mistakenly'
asserting that the tractors came from Taiwan. 'To err is human but I am not
worried about it anyway' he told The Independent Wednesday, showing his
regret for 'erring' in the course of commending the Taiwanese for their
volume of aid packages to The Gambia.

He argued that he had only connected the 'Jammeh tractors' to Taiwan as he
tried to show the extent of Taiwan's contribution to the country's
development effort. Mr. Jallow also explained that following the controversy
that followed his pronouncements, he was compelled by the need to know the
truth by consulting with officials of the Taiwanese mission who he claimed
'clarified' that the tractors 'had nothing to do with Taiwan.' Tamsir Jallow
also dismissed as 'utterly untrue' and 'malicious' reports suggesting that he
was apprehended and interrogated by the National Intelligence Agency (NIA)
following the tractor controversy

Mr. Jallow maintained that he was never held by the NIA in connection with
the tractors. 'Our government is not malicious to subject me to interrogation
over such an issue,' he remarked. Mr. Jallow claimed that reports of his
interrogation was made in bad faith, calculated to tarnish his image and to
put into disrepute the APRC party to which he belongs.
Mr. Jallow came down hard on outside internet users, particularly those
associated with Gambia-L whom he described as 'malicious' for allegedly
'bandying false information about the government

FYI Mr. Jallow et al, Gambia-L is here to stay and liberate Gambia and
Gambians from your ilks. You're known as "gaindeh kerr" but can't stand up
to this Yahya kid, once and for all. Our advice to you, is to go to the
Corner store "BUTIKI NARR" purchase 2 Dalasis' worth of courage [FITT] and
tell Yahya off, that you will not take his and NIA's crap no more.
Sincerely awaiting for that day. Meanwhile, shut up and watch us unmasked and
torment your lives.
