The evacuation of other French and American citizens are currently underway
afte the school children wee evacuated yesterday. Other nationalities,
including employees of Internatonal or Regional organisations in area
(WARDA etc.), are to follow suit according to reliable sources. Requests
for the evacuation of the national football teams of the Gambia, Sierra
Leone and Senegal are also being processed. It is expected that they will
be evacuated by road from Bouake to Yamoussoukro from where they are
expected to proceed either to Abidjan or Accra. No further information is
available at this stage and no telephone contact with the Gambian team at
the Ran was possible since this morning. Let us continue to pray for all
those civilians caught up in this deadly struggle for power.
