Madiba,

Thanks for this eye opener. I hope all African leaders will heed to the
message in this article instead of getting busy looting the little they come
across in our struggling economies.

Sometime ago, someone had raised the issue of possibly setting up a Data
Bank of Gambian professionals and intellectuals in and out of Gambia. I
believe it was Ebrima Ceesay who raised this issue here on the list. I think
one of the government agencies should take this up. Perhaps the Personnel
Management Office (if that's what it's still called). Such a Data Bank will
be an enormous resource for the uplift of our well-being and help determine
the impact of the brain drain.

But...and but, we must make sure the environment is conducive enough for
these intellectuals and professionals to make the sacrifice. I said
"sacrifice" because I honestly do not think they can earn as much as they
are earning outside of Africa.
