Hi,

That's quite interesting. During my teacher training days back in the 60s at
Yundum College, Gambia, we were taught phonetics which were absolutely ideal
for writing our Gambian vernaculars (Mandinks, Wollof, Tukulor and many
others). Several sounds can each be represented by one single phonetic
symbol. I guess if you browse the internet you will find these phonetic
symbols. 

I am interested in this and I am curious to hear what you may find in the
internet.
