If the recent comments and condemnation of voices of dissent by some Darboe supporters for apparently shedding lights on the shortcomings of their leader is to go by, then our country, is far from being freed as a nation. While it is a known fact that Jammeh is a dictator bent on undermining the fabric of Gambian society, some UDP supporters online will not condone voices of dissent against their leader. This is not the type of Gambian, we are yearning for after the fall of Jammeh. That these so called Darboe fans will not allow journalists to freely express their political views on the country's ailing democracy. We as a nation cannot be liberated, when our people are not willing to respect and honour each others political views. We are bound to have dissenting views in any true democracy and as such forces bent on condemning their fellow country men and women for having the darning mind to pick on Darboe, should be tolerant and stop the character assassination.

There is no doubt in mind that if Karamba Touray was Darboe's NIA Director, he will not hesitate to send me to jail for simply speaking my mind on issues of National interest. Karamba, did not only stop at hauling insults at me, but went as far issuing frivolous threats against a journalists, who is highly respected within and outside the country. Karamba's rantings, misplaced arguments and character assassination were based on tribal line devoid of the truth.

Karamba, I don't take your threats lightly, but be rest assured that I'm not a chicken hearted journalist to prey on. However, your threat "of contempt coming my way" as you stated have been documented for posterity. Go ahead and whatever you deem fit, I will never be a blind PR for injustice. It is a known fact that you are UDP "SAMPURSA", but you should not be over carried by your vicious emotions to undermine genuine Gambians committed to the struggle. Amazingly, you were my strong supporter some weeks ago. How come the sudden U-turn? You remember the time , you e-mailed me, asking me to update you on opposition developments back home? Dispute this and I reproduce the text of my journalistic report, I e-mailed to you "JAHARANG" on this mighty post and beyond. Karamba, let me remind you that "JOURNALIST DO MBOKA" as such I'm not obligated to the UDP neither the PPP as you erroneously implied.

"Terrekaffo" politics has failed The Gambia over the years, it would be fool hardy if you want to lure us into such dirty politics. Karamba, mediocre critics of your calibre will never hinder my journalistic work, which is hailed globally. Few dissenting mediocrities will never, and I repeat never frustrate Pa Nderry's the son of Niamina's well preserved thoughts and intentions for our country. I'm not here to please Ousainou, but to convey the wishes and aspirations of Gambians.

Let us set aside politics of tribalism or "BADING FASA." The press is the mouth piece for the voiceless and it is criminal for any interest group or person(s) to try to censor or condemn it for carrying out the work of a messenger. I hope Ousainou Darboe stop you before you cause damage for his party, as your malicious comments are can only undermine his party. Your position on the state of affairs suggested that you are a threat to press freedom. Your types should not be absorbed by any future administration given the pontential damage you can cause to any government worthy of its salt. Let us not allow the "GREEN BOYS" to be repeated by any future government. You have a great day, NIA Chief in waiting. I feel sorry for the Press if Karamba becomes NIA Chief.......

    Pa,
Everytime you forward a piece to this forum, you incessantly trumpet your faux credentials as an independent journalist. In reality , you are neither an independent observer nor a credible journalist. If like the rest of us you come online and expouse your own firmly held views and opinions honestly and clearly, then you would not illicit the justified contempt coming your way. You have decided you will become the public relations arm of O.J and his allies not through straight forward advocacy which is your right, but you are attempting to cloak your agenda in the ambit of independent journalism, a term you have clearly prostituted. What you do is pretty easy to figure out. You cobble together heresay, speculation and outright lies and clumsly frame it around your agenda and insist that your readers consume it as news. You don't stop there. You have also perfected the journalistic heresy of injecting yourself in th! e very stories you are writing as a supposed independent
journalist. You sit on your high horse and convince yourself that the Joseph Gobbels style cynicism you bring to journalism is an effective tool to be employed by the people whose bidding you think you are doing. You take it upon yourself to villify Ousainou Darboe calling him power hungry, a tribalist, a coward, a person who can't win elections. With added Chutzpah, you proceed to also lecture him on what you want him to do for you and your allies. Who are you? Why should Ousainou Darboe or anyoneelse with an ounce of common sense listen to you? You are now attempting to not only poison intra NADD relationship through specious commentary , but I see you expanded your ugly branding to others you suppose are not going along with O.J's program within his own party. To this end you advance proposterous conspiracies and spread lies about people you don't know or even try to speak to. At the end of the day, you will fail and I suspect you already know that. I am
also convinced you have no shame and you will not come back to the good people of this list the overwhelming majority of whom are fair, sensible people whose intelligence you have tried to insult with your prattle these last few days and tell them about your little project that was hatched on lies and dishonor.
I am sure you will try to discredit NADD as an enterprise once O.Js little game is over but you will fail in that as well.
  Karamba

  Hi Mbai

thank you for highlighting the general public and gambian masses in particular about the political developments at home. But you should bear in mind that human beings are dynamic and for that matter they are not perfect too. my advice is that leave the leadership to settle the matter and do not just jump at your own conclusions.

As! for BB and Sabally, just look at your own self. why should you leave Gambia and not stay since your colleagues are still at home facing all sort of harassment and intimidation some even had to lost their lives. we should note that we might be different in principle but the same objective towards the common good of our motherland.

  Congratulations for your good work.

It is time for the leader of the main opposition United Democratic Party, UDP'S Ousainou Darboe, to heed to public demand to give up his Pres! idential ambition. Darboe, should take a back seat, in the interest of political change in The Gambia. He had tested the Presidential race on two occasions, and should rally behind whoever is chosen by NADD to contest the much talked about 2006, polls. Failure of which, NADD will be a thing of the past. If the latest reports we received from Banjul, are to go by, OJ and his followers are not keen at allowing Darboe to lead again.

My pieces on Darboe, are usually unpopular within the Darboe camp, but this is not the time to! blame independent minded journalists for reporting the truth. This is not the time to advocate for politics
