I was also wondering why the Arabs don't use their oil power to remind the
US of their significance. I remember reading this somewhere...maybe the
reason the Arabs can't use their oil to send their message is that their
economies are totally dependent on oil. If their economies were a little
diversified, using oil boycott to pressure the US would make sense. But as
it is now, using oil boycott will no doubt hit the US but it's effect will
more severe on their economies.
Unfortunately for our poor brothers in Palestine, they are at the mercy of
the Israeli Army and the US. Except for pleas to the US for intervention to
restrain Ariel Sharon, help from their Arab neigbors would never
materialized.
