    indicators

The Earth Institute at Columbia University, Postdoctoral Fellows Program in
Sustainable Development  (granted for 24 months). We seek candidates
interested in enhancing their disciplinary research (in one of the core
disciplines represented within the Earth Institute, i.e., any of the earth
sciences, biological sciences, engineering sciences, social sciences, or
health sciences), while at the same time acquiring the cross-disciplinary
expertise and breadth needed to addresses critical issues related to
sustainable development and reducing environmental degradation, poverty,
hunger, and disease.  Each Earth Institute postdoctoral fellow will be
guided by multi-disciplinary teams of two or more senior scholars.
Candidate proposals should indicate how the research will contribute to the
goal of global sustainable development.  Applicants should also indicate
the general direction of multidisciplinary training and research
opportunities that they would like to pursue at the Earth Institute.
 Candidates should identify their desired multi-disciplinary mentoring
team, i.e., two or more senior faculty members or research
scientists/scholars at Columbia with whom they would like to work during
their fellowship.  For a list of the Earth Institute's research units and
