Govt blamed for collapse of cooperative societies

A new book just launched is castigating government for the collapse of cooperative societies in the country.

The book entitled "the cooperative movement in Uganda, a new beginning for ordinary Ugandans in the 21st Century, is authored by a Ugandan Don at Makerere University.

It is the first time an author is giving an insight into what caused the collapse of the cooperative movement.

The Book published by the Centenary Publishing House Limited suggests that cooperative movements have increased poverty levels in the country.
