Hi guys I suggest the INDEPENDENCE STADIUM be renamed after BIRI NJIE, THAT
WAY HIS MEMORY WILL BE PRESERVED FOR POSTERITY.
On the same suject of sports but this time basket ball I think we have
forgotten MBAT JOBE, mbat was to basket what Biri was to football. Mbat was
a house hold name in the sub region wherever he went he made an impact,
hence we must remember him.
Another Gambian sports legend is JANI GAUGE, I do not know his real name but
he was a phenomenom in long distance running, until the coming of Peter and
Paul Ceesay he was unbeaten. I hope we remember all these Gambian legends.
