Karim thanks for the observations. The Observer, is a gutter press, which is bent on aiding and abetting the dictatorship. I forwarded the piece for journalist like you and members of this forum to make informed decisions on their lies and propaganda. The timing of their faked editorial, speak volumes. You remember, they branded the ALLGAMBIAN, as disgruntled dissidents, bent on destabilising The Gambia. They are today, quoting our interview with Juwara to back up their editorial. You can see the hypocrisy here.....Chei, Observer, is trying to hide behind media outlets to join the fray... All these is work of "Jali Taal", but time will tell......

The statement uttered by Lamin Waa Juwara against Lawyer Ousainou Darboe in some media outlets recently gave a signal that the group that used to parade itself as the incoming force and beacon of democracy has already manifested to the Gambian people that it is indeed not disinterested in personal gains. He was quoted as refusing to recognise Darboe as a politician, which indicates that there is likely to be problem when it comes to selection or election of a leader for the coalition.
Despite the insistence of some UDP supporters that their leader, Darboe, should be the standard-bearer for the coalition on the basis of majority support, the coalition still blatantly refuses to accept it, arguing that the leader could be anybody among them (the leaders and/or senior members of the various parties that form the coalition).
Trust is what is important in whatever one does. This is what seems to be lacking in Nadd. We have received credible reports of incidents where a certain opposition politician would secretly invite his kinsmen to his office and lure them into giving their support to him in the event it is needed so as to head the coalition. Also, some supporters of certain opposition party in the USA have secured a video in which one of the coalition members who pretend to be a good friend of their leader strongly criticised him (their leader). He allegedly advocated against the prospective leadership of the said party leader.
There have also been reports, both in the local papers and in the Internet, that Darboe and his party had contemplated withdrawing from the coalition. Whether such reports are true or false, it still sends a bad signal as regards the good faith and cohesion among its members. If reports of this alleged scramble and infighting between the members of this so-called leadership are anything to go by, then the indications are that Nadd is in total disarray.
This is not the type of leadership we need for our beloved Gambia. We need politicians with maturity and perfect comportment to run the affairs of state.
Sheriff Mustapha Dibba had, in 2001, when he fell out with his would-be coalition partners, accused them as treacherous people. It seems this statement is even more relevant now.
