If it’s Ok with you, I intend to answer all the questions, but would like to start with question 12,  because I’ve got the answer to the first part of that question based on a lecture that I attended on 30th October 2005,  by Professor Mark Cohen ( Princeton) who is an authority on  that question. I chatted with him after the lecture. He is/ was much more positive and optimistic of a brighter future to Jewish-Muslim relations than I am.

(The first thing I told Rabbi Cohen, which I threw into the teeth of his optimism was,
 ” Nowadays there is a sixth pillar of Islam, namely hate thy neighbour, the Jew.” We chatted a little more, suddenly he asked me ” Do I know you?” Which I took to mean, and you are Professer WHO, being so contrary.  And you know, I am no Prince Hassan of Jordan either.

  (I remember that day so well, when I got home, just outside the door, the phone was ringing in the hall and Dayan Ha Emet; it was my wife calling from Tenerife, to say that her sister, my dear sister- in-law, had just passed away)

Professor Cohen’s  hope and optimism is what we need  to get out of the rut that your each and every question implies we are doomed to be forever mired in – or at least until the Messiah comes.....

Somewhere in my answer to these questions, I will tell you who and what ISRAEL is.

did the Europeans treat them? How do the Jews treat the Arabs today? 
Compare the way the Jews were treated by the Arabs and the way they are 
treating the Arabs today.
