Brother Malik,

Many thanks for the disturbing piece of news. That Ngugi should be attacked
in his homeland is itself a huge tragedy. Something must have gone pretty
awry. I cannot think of anyone in Kenya who has championed the cause of the
poor and voiceless as fiercely and as consistently as he did. I also pray he
recovers quickly.
Please add to your reading list his "A Grain of Wheat" as well.
