Dear Sherifo Camara,

I was pleased to see your message. I used to teach at North Bromsgrove High
School, near Birmingham, England and I am still very much involved with the
link between North Bromsgrove High School and Armitage Senior Secondary
School at Janjang-Bureh. I am also a member of GESO UK - the UK branch of
the Gambian Education Support Organisation . If you don't already have
details fo GESO UK just let me know. We have a meeting on Saturday.

You may also find it usefulto llok at the UK Charity Commision website.
There are about 15 Gambia type organisations listed there.

(Moving to links which are worldwide, and not necessarily Gambian, I am
involved in the UK One World Linking Association (UKOWLA) which is an
association of groups inthe UK which have long term friendship links with
corresponding groups in the South. If you send me your address I can send
you a single copy ofour newsletter. We have a national conference in
Leamington in July. Also this year we are intending to send a delegation to
the Australia Commonwealth Conference to propose a Commonwealth Association
of Community Links. The Director of the Commonwealth Foundation is quite
keen on the idea so it stands a good chance)

I hope this information is of some use. My friendship with The Gambia and
Armitage Senior Secondary School has given me much pleasure over the years.
We are now very proud to have one of ourformer students inthe University of
The Gambia as a lecturer in agriculture. He is Dr Paul Matthews.

All the best,

Mike Carrick.
