Dr. Janneh,
That is really a big step. Things are coming as we go. I was very impressed
with the drive to Gunjur when I visited. It took me 28 minutes from Kerewan
to Barra. That was also very impressive. It is my understaning that the
building of roads is also continuing. Sure progress is being made.
Otheriwse, I hope you enjoyed your trip?

Subject: Progress in My Hood

Folks,

Phase One of the much awaited Rural Electrification Programmme is currently
underway in The Gambia. Stacks of electric poles are piled along the Kombo
Coastal Roads, to the delight of many of us. This phase is expected to
cover
an area up to Sanyang. Gunjur and Kartong are to be included in the second
phase, which will follow shortly.

In addition, a water project for Gunjur has reportedly been signed and is
expected to be implemented very soon. This is progress!

Amadou SJ
