"President Yahya Jammeh has started his "Dialogue With the People Tour" by
taking the bull by the horns in explaining that his government cannot reduce
the price of rice, which has seen a dramatic rise in recent times.
Speaking at meetings in Ndungu Kebbeh and Suwareh Kunda, Jammeh said even if
his government tried to do that, the price would not go below D500 as they
don’t control the world market price and also because producers have
