  Brother Omar Joof,

One of the very first things I wrote today read "...Naturally, one must
wait for
leaders on the ground to publicly declare their opinions on the outcome of
the elections..." All the same, inspite of our obvious predicament, if one
can call it that, we have the chance to make observations from published
data, and perhaps even draw sensible conclusions from these. This daisporan
search for answers is perhaps a natural reaction to our frustrations, for
simply being far away from the action, for waiting, for making numerous
phone calls, and yet feeling insufficiently informed.

I agree with you that poverty goes a long way in explaining the very
backward practice of selling one's voice. The Economics of Voting and the
Failure of the Grand Coalition are two elements in identifying voter
migration and voter apathy.

  Many thanks,
  sidibeh
