Mr. Keita,

You have taken an appropriate action by demanding accountability from NADD, and I strongly belief that your example should be the pattern of relationship between the electorate and NADD leadership.
Second, I would emphasize that the nomination process for the NADD flag-bearer/candidates be abundantly transparent. So far we have been witnessing internal politicking to the point that OJ has to come out with a terse warning in order to preempt public opinion against any NADD member who intends to break the ranks. It is very obvious that there is trouble in NADD paradise which the leadership is trying very hard to contain by being very tight lip.

I shall add that one cannot build democratic institutions by very undemocratic means. The contemporary history of political alliances in Africa is a dismal reminder. NADD members want to remove Jammeh, and at the same time retain some form of strategic advantage over their potential political rivals amongst themselves. These are two very irreconcilable objectives, and only time will tell.

Ebou

I vehemently believed and concurred with what O.J has
said during his interview With B B C as published by
the Point News Paper, that it will be suicidal for any
political leader to break away from NADD.It would
rather sound cacophonic to the minds and ears of the
Gambian majority who are darly hopping for a positive
change come 2006.

Therefore,we have witnessed decades of abuse of power
and exploitation that had created ways of life for
Gambians marked by patterns of duplicity ,including
self deception as well as something far more
forbidding and lethal.Self imposed leadership and vie
for leadership in the Gambia had led not simply to the
development of a psychology of timidity, passivity, self
denial and cowardice among our leaders.

By and large,NADD members that encompasses of the
various political parties should be aware that APRC
are playing their ball very well.As a
result, personality and individualism must be entirely
put aside.Ostensibly, no individual own the Gambia and
the Gambians are now so exposed that they will not
accept parochial matters that will impede or
circumvent that process. This is because no single
individual can make the Gambia as we want it either to
be "alpha and omega" to the Democratic process of our
country.Further more, it will be uthopia if NADD
members or individual party leaders could be
susceptible to fantasy and self deception that can be
an ominous sign of a break away.

I supposed the coming of NADD into being is
circumstantial. This is why to my understanding many
people are willing to give their support both moral
and financial to NADD.However,if rumors start raining
down of a split, more clearification is needed to asure
the people.Secondly, the advice of every Gambian is
needed be it the young or old age.It is also high time
for NADD to address this issue{pronounce their leader
immediately} before it will be too ate.

I AM PUTTING THE READERS TO TASK,I.E TO PUT FORWARD
THEIR CHOICE OF COMPETENT PEOPLE WHO CAN LEAD NADD
IF SELECTION IS A PROBLEM .

I supposed there is nothing wrong to name our choice
of candidates if that leader is to serve our needs and
aspirations. As a result, media is a good place to
discuss the type of leader we want to lead us.It is
time to speak the language of truth nothing but the
whole truth.

L.KEITA.
