Sigga,
This is a very good idea to bring Gambians together so that as a nation/people, we can focus on what we can do for our people.
However, I am very skeptical of the root casue of this if you have to have Omar Jallow and Dr. Siane as the guests speakers. Don't you think that has some opposition tone to it?

  Thanks.

Guys, find attached information for the “Meet the
Diaspora Conference/Dinner” to be held in Louisville,
Kentucky on May 20th, 2006 at the Clarion hotel on
9700 Blue Grass Parkway. We are expecting this to be
a trendsetter and a wonderful “Premier” for Gambians
in this region of the USA. So far, we have had a
tremendous response and people are very interested.
Dr. Abdoulie Saine of Ohio and Mr. Omar Amadou Jallow
(O.J.) will be the guest speakers. If you have never
heard them speak before, do yourself a favor and come
to listen to this dynamic speakers, plus you will have
the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful Gambian buffet
and to mingle with fellow Africans in this region.
They will definitely inspire you to do good for the
Gambia regardless of your political alliances or lack
thereof. This will also be an opportunity for
Gambians in the Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana area to
get together and form an alliance that will help us be
a stroner force. Such an alliance will enable us to
come to the aid of each other in times of need, and to
contribute to the development of the Gambia through
such ventures as arranging for drives and fund raisers
to send items such as used clothing, used computers,
school supplies, hospital equipment, etc, to our needy
communities, hospitals, schools and clinics back in
the Gambian. So THIS IS NOT JUST ABOUT POLITICS.
This is about putting our resources together to defend
our interests in this country, help and protect each
other when needed, and to help the people we left back
home. In order to be able to do this, we have to
organize in our mass numbers, and prepare in advance
for such emergencies. Please come and join us. If
you cannot make it, PRINT/E-MAIL THIS TO AS MANY
PEOPLE AS YOU KNNOW WHO LIVE IN THIS AREA. Thank you.
