Dr Saine&G-L community,
Apart from those who lost their lives in that tragic accident, it seems
Kutubo had sustained the most
serious injuries. Through the cooperation of many friends and
well-wishers, he was evacuated to Saudi Arabia
on the 15th of January, accompanied by Dr Sheriff Aba Dumbuya.
A week after their arrival and medical stabilisation, Kutubo underwent
major spinal surgery, from which he is
now recovering. He is not quite yet up and about, but the surgery has
been a success; and after physical
therapy and rehabilitation training, we expect significant improvement
in his general well being.
Once again, he wishes to thank the entire Gambian community, in
particular G-lers, for their show of sympathy
and solidarity during this very trying times. Indeed one of the items
used for his emotional therapy are
print-outs of suitable articles from the Gambia-l, so he is with us all
in spirit. Thanks

Malamin Barrow.
