Ebou, i read your piece but am still at lost as to
what you really wanted to say. I read you over and
over again but the arguement as far as am concern did
not address the Gambian reality nor did it reveal any
logical conclusion. I want to believe that your's is
one of those loaded statements whose target can never
be understood by people who read stories in their face
value. Why not come out plain to say that state
sanctioned harassment and human rights abuse are
necessary to maintain dictators in powers. If we are
to go by your defination of individual rights and the
collective efforts of national security, then there is
no need monitor government excesses and their
attendent risks. Because i wander how human rights
abuses can be justifiable in a society that wants to
maintain national security?  Gambia and Gambians are
indeed interesting!!!
