These are really confusing times for ordinary Gambians. First, UDP's boycott of the recent parliamentary elections, when they had previously participated in even more flawed elections.
PDOIS's participation in the flawed parliamentary elections, when they had, as a matter of principle, previously boycotted reasonably free and fair by-elections.
Then Dibba, forced to be quiet for seven years suddenly forms an alliance with the APRC.
And now after victory, Jammeh speaks of forgiveness and reconciliation while public servants continue to be fired.
To make things even more incomprehensible, the deposed and corrupt former head of state now speaks warmly of "President Jammeh", and is seriously considering a return as elder statesman under the man who "kicked" him out of power.
Somebody needs to put all these in perspective for ordinary folks; and I hope and pray that at the end of it all, Gambia and Gambians will be stronger and more united..
