THE EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS MADE THE COUP POSSIBLE

Brief History
Former President of Ghana Dr.Kwame Nkumah invited many students from all over Africa to study in Ghana, after he was couped in February 1966 (read "dark days in Ghana") many of the Pan African-Socialist and revolutionary students decided to stay in Ghana to further the legacy of Pan African under the guidiance and doctrine of Kwame Nkumarah.

The United States of Africa
Kwame Nkwarah wanted a united Africa (much earlier before the EU was thought of). He made Ghana to have a modern army and had trainig camps He acquired modern aircrafts and ships and introduced conscribtion. He donated mone and technical assistance to other African countries fighting for independance and racist rule in Africa like Rhodisia ( Zimbabwe), Portuguse Guinea Bissau, Angola and the ANC. Many Gambians were among the students that studied and lived in Ghana They have seen coups after coups in Ghana and in other parts of Africa. They have a knowledge of coup planning and are very experienced. With the a political base and background in Ghana, they intergrated into the Nkumarist-Pan African party group togerther with Jerry Rawlings to make Ghana the bed-rock of African plolitical change. This brough in the Libyans to allied with the West Afican connection. There was money and a plenty of it.

LIBYA
Libya was using West Africa to spread the Green revolution of Colonel Ghadifi..The Libyans entered Seirra Leone in the mid 70s and from there they recruited many WestAfricans including many many Gambians and sent them training camps and schools in Benghazi in Libya.

The African Revolutionary Army
The Africa Revolution Army in was formed Ghana. The Libyans started the connection to spread the revolutionary gospel. It was in this need to expand in the region that interested them in Alie Kabba, Charles Taylor (known as Charlie) and Kukoi Samba Sanyang (known as Dr. Manning)

 The Coup
In 1981 Kukoi armed with the African revolutionary Army entered The Gambia and declared a dictatorship of the proletariaint ( People's power) in the Gambia in an early morning coup de etate. He was head of the Supreme revolutionary council and head of state of the Gambia for 5 days. He was not a member of MOJA. and he is not known to be a member of The African Revolution Army any longer. MOJA was a willing partner for any revolutionary change in The Gambia and some members of MOJA was arrested and many were detained for long.

The Movement
Kukoi was a member of an armed organisation which operated actively in Liberia, Serirra Leone, Guinea and Guinea Bissau, Burkina Faso, Ghana and Ivory Coast, Angola.and the Congo. The African Revolutionary Army is very big and very much stronger and larger, well and alive.

My experience,
Oko Drammeh

My questions are;
1.how did kukoi organise and led security men into toppling the gov't
when he is not one of them
2. he was not a cabinet minister
3. he is not a legislator even though he tried earier
4. he was not a Halifa ( a people's person )
5. was he a member of MOJA-G
6. He did not come from the largest ethnic group

With all the above limitations that usually make coups successful,
KUKOI SAMBA SANYANG was able to pull this together. How?

Was it simply that he was a charismatic person that could talk anyone
into anything! I need your help please.
