Joy raptures my heart every dawn
When my lovely child sleeps alone
Cradled snugly in daddy’s bosom.

Screams flavor short nights sleepless
Blistering murmurings in tenderness
She smiles in slumber without sensation.

Love presented this gift in time
An immanent now forever yours and mine
Promising all in life’s future horizon.

Mothers, divine this duty to creation
Your hearts burn with gentle passion
In sacred service to human freedom.
