Lawyer Darboe to Make Statement Today
Wednesday 8th February 2006
  The leader of the United Democratic Party, lawyer Ousainou Darboe, is expected to address journalists at his party headquarters in Banjul this afternoon.
  Mr Darboe who, when contacted yesterday would not tell this paper what type of statement he is to deliver, said in a joking mood that “it is a pregnant woman and until today you will not know whether it is a baby boy or girl.”
  However some insiders within the party hinted The Point that the press conference would be centred on recent developments within the opposition alliance NADD.
  It could be recalled that this paper last week reported the resignation of Lawyer Ousainou Darboe from NADD.
