No, l tried soccer with my brother and his friends in the dust at Gunjur
primary school, but was no good at it. However, myself, Fatis Gibril, Fatou
Taal and Ida Jahumpa used to try our hand at cricket at Mccarthy square some
times after sports practice, and l must say, we were not so bad. A ball got
me good on the foot one day, and l swear l still have trouble on the exact
spot that ball hit years ago.
Sorry, l cannot match your knowledge of the music scene l'm afraid.

Further below is part of a private mail sent to me by an older brother and a
friend, mentioning some names of older Gambian players I had not mentioned.
Baboucarr Sillah: Wow! you must have a very good memory. You have rightly
named the defense of the Senegalese team that played the Gambia in the 1980
Zone 2 Final in Banjul.
The defenders were, as you stated, Omar Touray, Bai Momar Jow (not Jobe and
nicknamed Billy), Jahou Gueye and Ablai Bah. It was Mbaye Fall, a Diaraf FC
player at the time, who scored the crucial goal.
By the way, Gambia L, I also discuss/debate Senegalese soccer, and even
Senegambian music, very satisfactorily.
Who can take me on Moussa Ngom? Where exactly has Moussa Ngom messed up? Who
changed Youssou Ndour's music for the better, before Habib Fye joined
Youssou? Which was the Cassette that changed Youssou's music for the better,
and who arranged it?
Who is the Senegalese musician who can back Mousa Ngom best? By the way,
does Moussa Ngom write his songs or does someone do the writing for him? Can
Moussa Ngom arrange music or not? Who are the three best music "arrangers"
in the Senegal at the moment? I have more questions to ask relating to
Senegambian music, but I am in a hurry.
