American politics really confuse me. I don't understand the primaries, the electoral college and all what. I needs time to do a good reading the corridors of power in United States politic, the role of senate and congress. I really embrace its values and any little help will makes enhances my pathway to learn abot A to Z of American Politic.

  Ginny,

I don't blame Bill for the first black president meme. That is the fault of opinion setters in the black community....Toni Morrison to be specific. And it is an insult to hoot. The reasoning goes that Bill was raised by a single mother, smoke pot, play the sax on Arsenio and most of all was promiscuous...so he is got to be black. Later they tried to massage it with: he appointed black folk to high positions. Well on the later point so did bush. In fact Bush appointed black folk to more prominent cabinet posts than Bill Clinton did. Secretary of state for both of his terms, education with Ron page...Alphonso Jackson at HUD etc.

Clinton went along with the first black president title because it was politically expedient. During the Lewinsky blow job scandal (excuse my french) black folks rallied to his defense....They help elect his carpet bagging wife to the senate a few years later. But some of Bill Clinton's policies were very detrimental to the black community. From Minimum sentencing laws, to the disparity between crack and powdered cocaine sentencing to the first assault on affirmative action all took place under his watch.

I am not going to hold my nose and vote for a dynasty. Let another family change the drapes at the white house for a change. The bushes and Clintons are not the only capable Americans.

alienating some members of the Democratic Party, the quesiton is, should Hillary get the
Democratic nomination (and there's a good chance that she will), what kind of overtures will be
made to these people to make them come back into the fold so to speak?

Hillary's (and bill's" tactics have really left a bad taste in my mouth, really, and it seems to
me that if Hillary gets the nomination, it doesn't matter if you vote Republican or Democratic for
the Presidency. And if she wins the nomination, be prepared for more fractuiousness, especially
if she wins the White House.

For someone whos supposedly "America's first black President" Bill Clinton has has made some
comments that have left me scratching my head. Look how they act when a vialble African-American
candidate is up against them? their true colors show then, and I can't say I like it too much. I
was starting to soften toward the Clintons but their actiosn and attitude of late have really made
me change my mind!

Methinks if Hillary ends up being the Democratic nominee in November, I think I'll vote for Chloe
as a write-in canidate, merely out of principle and good conscience!

Anyon else with me!? Any way you look at it, it'd be setting a precedent wouldn't it? And it
can't be anyworse than what we've had already, besides Chloe loves eveyrone! She's very friendly,
doens't cause any trouble! Just think, it could work couldn't it?

Seriously, though, should HIllary be the Democratic nominee, I'd probably hold my nose, and say to
the person assisitng me in voitng in the quietest way possible, "I want to vote for Hillary" and
try to keep from becoming nauseious while saying it.

Ginny
