Mr. Dampha,

The reports have been confirmed by both the Observer and GambiaNet. These
attacks on women and the burning down of private property on the eve of
private sector-sponsored workshop on how to revitalise a declining tourism
sector is incomprehensible and damaging to tourism. Senseless attacks of
this nature only tarnishes further the image of the country and drive out
prospective investors. I hope that the culprits are brought before a court
of law.

Sidi Sanneh
