NADD'S HALIFA SALLAH WILL SEND JAMMEH PACKING-WAA JUWARA AS HE ACCUSSES DARBOE/HAMAT OF NOT HAVING THE COUNTRY'S INTEREST AT HEART-YAHYA JALLOW RESIGNS FROM NADD!!!
Gambia’s firebrand politician, popularly known as the Niamina Dankunku lion Lamin Waa Juwara, has said that the naming of Halifa Sallah, as the NADD flag bearer in the country’s October, 2006 Presidential election will end the Jammeh dictatorship as he was pretty certain of NADD election victory.
Speaking to The Freedom Newspaper, shortly after the nomination of Halifa, Waa said that he was relieved that NADD had survived with the naming of Mr.Sallah as its leader. “As I’m talking to you I’m very happy. NADD had survived. We are on course and there is no turning back to send Jammeh packing.”Waa told the Freedom Newspaper on the line to Brikama.
Waa Juwara, who conceded to Halifa’s candidature after his first attempt to lead NADD described Sallah, as a seasoned politician who is capable of defeating Jammeh in any free, fair and transparent elections. “Halifa is incorruptible. He is a very modest person. He has showed maturity in his politics and I supported his nomination in good faith. I have been receiving phone calls for people thanking me for conceding to Halifa’s nomination. What I wanted is change. This is what I stood for, for the past eleven year. I suffered torture, imprisonment and all kinds of persecution. I think the coming together of these parties is a blessing in disguised.”said Mbarodi.
            DARBOE/HAMAT UNDER FIRE
Commenting on the withdrawal of UDP leader Ousainou Darboe and NRP’S Hamat Bah from NADD, Waa charged that both Darboe and Bah don’t have the country’s interest at heart, otherwise they would have stayed on board to meet the needs and aspirations of Gambians both at home and abroad for a change of political leadership in the tiny West African country.

The withdrawal of Darboe and Hamat from NADD was not justifiable at all. There was absolutely no mistrust amongst coalition leaders. They don’t have the country’s interest at heart. We expected them to respect NADD’S MOU and code of conduct and not to behave otherwise. They are all signatories to the MOU.“ Mbarodi fumed.

                 NADD IS HERE TO STAY!!!
Despite the withdrawal of the two political heavy weights, Juwara said NADD will be more than happy to receive Darboe and Bah back to the coalition. “That would be very patriotic of them, if they should return back to NADD. Gambians want unity. Their withdrawal from the alliance don’t go down well with well meaning Gambians.”Waa Juwara told this paper in an exclusive interview.
The former Niamina Dankunku Parliamentarian in the First Republic says NADD is here to say and nothing will shake them, as victory was theirs. I have not seen any thing yet that might shaken my enthusiastic for victory. Jammeh will not escape this time. We have seasoned politicians in NADD. Victory is ours.”he added.
           JUWARA LASHES NADD CRITICS
Reacting to criticism that NADD was a segment of parties without major political following in the country, Waa ran into heavy laugher and retorted “Ha ha ha That is totally false. That is not correct. Gambians are no fools. How can that happened. The long awaited NADD that we have subscribed to for the past two years have survived. This is the biggest relieve that I ever had in my life. We are banking on the support of Gambians both at home abroad to effect political change.” Juwara says NADD is commanding a strong following in The Gambia and such critics will be shocked when their chosen leader is declared the winner of the coming polls.
Waa Juwara said they intend to restore democracy and the rule of law when voted into office. He says the maladministration taking place in The Gambia is reaching an unacceptable proportion. He cited the lacked of good governance, and the respect for the rule of law in the Gambia. The Jammeh government, he went on had exposed Gambians to untold economic and political hardship over the years. He added that the leadership was also shamelessly bent on living in flamboyance lifestyle.
NO CROSS BORDER VOTING THIS TIME
On the issue of the pending the elections, Waa said he was not foreseeing any elections violence in view of the recently signed Common Wealth Memorandum of understanding signed by all parties in the country. He however, said they will not condone cross border voting in The Gambia. He said that they will ensure that the electoral register is cleaned and no voter fraud. He says they will campaign vigorously to ensure that Jammeh’s regime is history. He urged Gambian abroad to extend financial help to the coalition in the coming polls.
                 DARBOE IS PARTIME POLITICIAN
On whether he Juwara was a political enemy of lawyer Darboe, Mbarodi said he had nothing against Darboe. He added that he served the UDP as its National Secretary and propaganda manager. “I was the organizing secretary of the UDP. How can we be strange bed fellows? Darboe is a politician on part time. I’m a career politician. He went and conceded defeat to Jammeh when he should not have done that. Our people were in the upcountry monitoring the polls.” he said.
Waa said Kemesseng Jammeh was still part and parcel of NADD. He however, indicated that Yahya Jallow of the UDP had tendered his resignation from NADD with immediate effect. He said Jallow’s resignation letter was communicated to them during the NADD leadership selection on Wednesday.
When asked whether they foresee Kemesseng Jammeh, leaving NADD a month before the polls, Juwara said there was no sign so far on the side Jammeh that he will quit NADD. “All what we know is that he is part of NADD. He took part in the selection process. He is an active member of NADD.”Waa added.
