Sanusi,
I suggest you wisit the party's website at www.udpgambia.org and see for
yourself. Mr. Darboe the party leader is Mandinka who if anyone knows his
background and his family will not accuse him of tibalism. Mr. Jallow the
deputy is Fulla. Mr. Ebou Manneh the senior administrative secretary is
wolof. Mr. Femi Peters the Campaign manager is Aku. Mr. Momodou
shyngel(spp) Nyassi the president of youth wing is Jola... Mr. Amadou Taal
who is the assistant treasurer I believe is wolof. The attorney for the
party Mrs. Mariam Jack- Denton is wolof and Mr. Was Juwara who is the
oragnizing secretary I believe is Mandinka. These ar the people I can think
of off the top of my head. Gambia-l's saul Khan asked Mr. Darboe why he
spoke in Mandinka at the meeting just to answer Ewol's question and Mr.
Darboe said he did ask the oragnizers at the meeting what the medium of
communication was to be and he was told by the organizers that Mandika and
the other languages will be good. Now at the meeting that was held in DC on
sunday, the medium of communication was in English since most of the people
that are resident in the DC area speak english. I will reinterate the point
in my lst posting that some of us either do not understand the make-up of
the crowd that was at the NY meeting or do not want to acknowledge the fact
that speaking the language was neccessary. Why would one speak to an
audience in English when we know that they will not comprehend- Give me a
break guys!... I think we are dwelling on an issue that is just been used by
detractors. We have more pertinent issues like to unseat the dictator.
Like KB has pointed out, there is not point at this point in time to
speculate about what the UDP will do when they are in power. I believe that
the party is filled with honourable men and women that want to serve Gambia
and to rescue the Gambia from these savages that are running it now.
Sanusi, I hope I have given you enough proof anf that visiting the web site
will do the same as well. I hope we can lay this issue to rest and focus on
the issue of getting rid of Jammeh come October. One more thing... let us
not pit one opposition against the other like Essa is doing... It is your
perogative to think that Halifa will be make a better leader than say
Ousainu or Hamat but we can not have the opposition at "war" with one
another since our enemy is the moster himself. I would also like to join
other members of the l- to appeal to Ebou Colley to continue his postings,
you are enlighting many of us and for you to stop your postings to engage
Halifa in a debate that will be regretable.
Have a Good day!!!!
Yama
