Hello Mr. Saihou Njie:

Thank you for the email updating us about the wonder conclusion reached during the Gambian community meeting in Atlanta last weekend. It was great to learn that the community was able to put their differences behind them and agreed to unify in creating the United Gambian Organizations of Atlanta (UGOA). As a Gambian who was very concerned about the divisions in Atlanta, I am very proud of your efforts and that of the leadership in Atlanta for resolving your differences and unifying the community once again.

To all Gambians, we must always remember that a commitment reconciliation and unity requires a preference for negotiation to confrontation. You must not fear to negotiate, to talk over your differences, to try to resolve them short of conflict. A willingness to negotiate requires real mental and spiritual strength, it requires real confidence, but it often holds out the best chance to achieve the desired change.

I commend the leadership and community in Atlanta for their efforts and whish UGOA all the best of luck.

KEEP HOPE ALIVE!!!

James Gomez, Jr.
