Mr. Saine, dear G-L members,
you are doing a great work. Democracy and free elections are a major outcome
for the Gambia.

This is most important itself. It is as well considered a basic criteria to
make Gambia elegible for donation and development support. Access to this is
vitaly important to the Gambia.

While I joind a meeting with the Africa Colloquium in Hamburg, Germany, the
lecturer from KfW informed us about what he called the "good government
policy" of the EU and KfW conditions for granting development support. They
conducted a research that prooved, that projects that were run in countries
with a democratic government similar to western style were most successful,
while those under non democratic governments mostly failed. Therefore they
make this a criteria to forcast likelyhood of a successful project and thus
wheter they will contribute or not.

As you already said, the Gambia belongs to all of us and generations yet
unborn. I see it as "moral obligation" to support organisation of elections
of 2001 positively.
As long as there is no influence towards preferences of a certain political
party involved you may count on me as a volunteer. I think that lobbying is
one of the key factors to increase the well being in the Gambia.

What do you think of a hotoffice.com free cyberspace office in order to
coordinate activites, exchange documents and publish press releases?

I could also help with translations into German and maybe some friends may
help me for French, Russian, Turkish or Chinese.

Concerning contacts in EU, please send me more specific information who to
address.

Greetings
Angelika Prox Dampha
