Folks this is a very sobering study by the World Food Programme The Gambia.
Some fast facts and figures in 2011, 17 yrs under Mr. Jammeh:
- With median age under 20yrs, almost 50 percent of all Gambians in the
Gambia today are as old as Mr. Jammeh's government
- Gambia imports 60% of its staple food
- 69.7% of all household earn no more than D40,000 up from 58% in 2003
- Average household expenditure (D7860) per month (D94,320 per yr). Thus
70% of households earn no more than 5 months of sustenance
-GGC the official groundnut vendor purchased only 85% of farmers
groundnut (lack of capacity).
