Gov't Signs Investment Promotion, Protection Agency

The permanent secretary of the department of State for Trade, Industry and
Employment Yusupha Dibba and the Netherlands Ambassador in Dakar Jos Van
Aggelen on Monday signed an investment promotion and protection Agency
aimed at strengthening the cordial relationships between the two countries.

According to a press release from the department of State for Trade
Industry and Employment, the main objectives of the agreement is to further
intensify economic relations as well as expanding trade and investment,
stimulate private capital flows and technology transfer to the Gambia.

The release added that the agreement which is for an initial ten years
period would give protections in accordance with the laws of the state
investments made by citizens of both countries in either country.
