Saul,
i do think your questions should be directed
neither to me nor to the UDP party. you stated "what
is wrong with us starting a whole new chapter in our
nation's life? After what our self-anointed emperor
has done, is it too much to ask that we all agree to
safeguards that would prevent anyone like him from
ever lording over us? What is wrong about having a
term limit? What is wrong about a temporary president
who will preside over the mechanism that would usher
in a new era?"

In the first place i do not see the logic behind
asking the above questions to me as if UDP has a
problem with them. UDP is open to dialogue with all
democratic institutions and forces. The party is
following the wishes of the people and the majority
for that matter.
By the way do anyone think that Darboe or Hamat were
capable of forcing anyone to attend their Brikama
rally against one wishes, NO.

You see now the prospects for the consolidation of
democracy in The Gambia depends on the ability of we
the Gambians to unhold principles of democratic
behavior. Certainly it is real that various
organizations and individuals including yourself and
myself campaigned against Jammeh on a democratic
platform and that many Gambians on this list have
embraced democratic attitudes and values. But it has
become abundantly clear that political intolerance and
undemocratic behavior is common among us here on the
list.

Finally for you to call "UDP insisting having it all,
Ousainou and his fanatical kitchen cabinet" is
outrageous and uncall for. Mr.Darboe and Hamat Bah are
out to restore the basic dignity, honor, and respect
to which Gambians are entitled.

Note i would suggest we work for a corporation between
UDP/NRP and NADD rather than otherwise.

Thank you.
Saihou
