The e-mail below came from a source in the heart of The Gambian Government.

Mr Ceesay, the events of the last few days with that Moron Kebba Jobe or
whoever it is, has shown us that there is surely light at the end of the
tunnel!! We are proud of you......For your information, Pa Modou Gassama of
Gamtel is hated almost by everybody and I CAN ALSO CONFIRM TO YOU that he
had to be recalled from Kent because of his fraud!

One word of advise: Could you tell your other sources to create new yahoo or
other free e-mail accounts and send you stories from there and in creating
these accounts, it should not be their real names. This is a good security
measure in case they hack your hotmail account, they can read their messages
but their names will not be the right ones as the accounts have false names.
There is a lot of email spying software and hotmail always has security
breaches. This is important as they will do anything at this point to
silence folks.

On another note, Sedat Jobe called a press conference with journalists
yesterday and tried to sweet talk them and told them to write a list of
their problems and send it to Jemus Jammeh as he is their friend. Sedat was
really saying all sorts of garbage. But the journalists were having none of
it and Deyda Hydara was very critical and forthright. Sedat was actually
playing double sword as he had earlier on called two embassies (British and
US) and accused them of sponsoring the 'OBSERVER 8' to start a newspaper.
The "Oberver 8" are those reporters who recently resigned from the Daily
Observer. True, the newpaper might be started but the details are being kept
secret because any knowledge of these details might bring it to a halt.

On the electricity problems, they are pushing left, right and centre to
commission the generators for the July 22nd anniversary, but that is not
possible as the engineers from Germany are having none of it. The
transformer, network are not in place and this will happen over the next few
weeks, well after the July 22nd ceremonies have ended. So, watch this space,
they will inaugurate them, but with no generator turning ON. These things
take time.

Anyway I will certainly find time to give you a call one of these day and
may Allah be with you....

Your Comrade in the struggle

PS: I will give you more information on the Mafy Jarju breaking story. I
have something on that too. As for Tombong Saidy, he is definitely a
businessman. Like him or hate him, he knows his business, he's opening
another mobile phone shop and his marketing is ace. Well, he owns the TV and
his ads do dominate GRTS! The Gambia is just plain interesting!!!!!!!!!!!
