I beg to differ. What happened in America today is one man's pursuit to lead the nation came to an end because Americans chose other candidates over him. His supporters are obviously sad. I guess that qualifies for a sad day in America for them.

"The only value to John endorsing another candidate is to propel them to the Presidency. " Haruna.

I think this is a stretch. A phantom of your imagination. If Edwards has so much power, he wouldn't be dropping out of the race. Moreover he doesn't control his supporters. Now that he is out of the race, they (his supporters) will make informed decisions to shift their support to the two remaining candidates.

Will Edwards' endorsement sway some of his supporters? You betcha. Will it propel the endorsee to the presidency. I dunno.

"Therefore, the proper understanding must precede endorsement. " Haruna

That sounds like quid pro quo to me. Endorsement for the highest bidder. Any takers? Going once, going twice.....I hope Edwards is more principled than that. But you should know him better.

"For value to the Democratic Party, I would like John Edwards to endorse Hillary Clinton and I will afford him that suggestion along with my reasons." Haruna

I will love to see what this value to the Democratic party is that an Edwards endorsement of Clinton will foster as opposed to say an endorsement of Obama .

"I would also encourage OBAMA to withdraw and endorse Hillary for the good of the party because among the two candidates, there is really not any more principle and or substance than exists in McCain or Romney. " Haruna

Whoa ... slow your roll on endorsement advice bro. Senator Obama is running a 50 state campaign here. He has the money and momentum to win the primaries. What is this good of the party you talking about? The Clinton coronation? If the good of the Democratic party is Obama abandoning a vigorous and winning campaign to endorse his rival why do we bother with primaries in the first place.

Furthermore, there is some difference between Obama and Clinton on issues. Take Foreign relations for instance. The former takes the pragmatic approach that you've got to talk to your enemies and reach some compromise with them without fear while the later saw that as naivety. If we learn anything from the last seven years is that macho saber rattling doesn't make the world safer.

The democratic party can elect Obama and change the leaf on the fractious Clinton years of the 90s or galvanize the republican base with Clinton. You know nothing fires up republicans more than the Clintons. And if the last few weeks are anything to go by most of their anger is justified. The Clintons do torture the truth.

The only value to John endorsing another candidate is to propel them to the
Presidency. Therefore, the proper understanding must precede endorsement. For
value to the Democratic party, I would like John Edwards to endorse Hillary
Clinton and I will afford him that suggestion along with my reasons. I would
also encourage OBAMA to withdraw and endorse Hillary for the good of the party
because among the two candidates, there is really not any more principle and
or substance than exists in McCain or Romney. Right now, with Edwards out of
the race, the two candidates will rely on more benign considerations for
votes. Politics as usual. I love both OBAMA and Hillary but pragmatically, I
would Edwards endorses Hillary Clinton for President.

His supporters could go either way. I hope they sway towards my candidate:
Mr. Obama. Georgia is one of the super Tuesday states ...I hope Edwards
supporters like Haruna will give Mr. Obama a chance. Look at his record, character,
charisma and his audacious stance that he could bring this nation together
after the fractious Clinton and Bush years.
