Ous, Kb, Hamjatta,

Ousman: I don't think KB is necessarily "calling you names." Your citing of
Jawara's presence at the London meeting as a bad omen is what has given some
people a case of the flu. You have a right to always cite your family's
rough treatment at the hands of the Jawara regime. You won't be human if you
don't. But from a "national interest" stand point, your interjection is
counter-productive. Why? It injects cynicism where it is least needed, and
places the Jawara regime on the same level as Jammeh's, which is simply
unfair. Jawara was a big disappointment as a leader, but he's basically a
very decent man. Jammeh, on the other hand is a MENACE to our society both
as "leader" or as a man. There was such a thing as a "Gambian way of life"
under Jawara. No such thing exists now. So equating the two regimes
-especially after last April, is really an insult to all genuinely
fair-minded Gambians. I believe that's where KB, and Hamjatta are coming
from.

KB, Hamjatta: Ous is Ma Boy. I think it's fair to say that he has a little
problem expressing himself clearly sometimes. That of course translates into
ambiguity, -others not being clear about how to interpret some of his
statements. But, as far as I know, he's still one of us. His writing is what
fails him sometimes.

Like KB, I'll wait for PDOIS's reason for boycotting the London meeting. I
don't have the time, or inclination to start another fight with my big
brother Halifa Sallah. But, again like KB, I get a case of stomach cramps
anytime PDOIS alone among the opposition ends up -wittingly or unwittingly-
on a side that puts the govt at ease. A few weeks ago, I red an interview
with the self-professed "I'll Do Anything For Jammeh" crackpot a.k.a.
Fatmatta Jahumpa Ceesay, in which she was chastising Waa Juwara, and
pointing to PDOIS as a yard stick. That the Yaya Jammeh govt is evil is an
established fact. Such being the case, one has to really wonder why this
group of common criminals feel comfortable with PDOIS. Principles, or no
principles, there's something really wrong when child murderers keep touting
an opposition party as a model. It simply doesn't jive with me...

Welcome back KB! Woke up early this morning to read your mail. Keep it
coming.

Good morning.

Saul.
