From Yahya's lips on the murder of Koro Ceesay when asked why Koro's
murderers have not been brought to justice and I quote "Koro was my personal
friend. Any way people die everyday"!. I can't tell you how livid I was
especially when questions were not allowed from us, Gambians, in the
audience.
A police dog's death in an official capacity is investigated and the
perpetrators are brought to justice. Koro was a "personal friend" who was
also the MINISTER of our financial institution. His murder does not warrant
a conclusive investigation by his "friend's" administration - after all,
every Gambian knows who the players in Koro's murder are and so does his
"friend".

known whether the culprits like it or not.Gambians have the right to the
truth and no amount of accusations of Gambians in America can avert the
unveiling of that truth.

This is Ramadan and l was trying to stay quiet about this. However, the
statement from Yankuba Touray that "they had asked the public to come
forward
with any information they had about the Koro affair" left me thinking that
perhaps they were asking the wrong people. Perhaps the public does not know
anything about this at all. perhaps they ought to look elsewhere.Have those
who are responsible to investigate crimes against the people (and murder is
a
crime against the people) thought about actually doing the leg work on this
case, instead of waiting for the public to come and give them some
information? Afterall, if a crime is committed, no citizen is above the
law, and an investigation should be done among the general public as well as
in the highest offices alike, if those conducting such an investigation are
sincere in their efforts.An investigation consists of competent law
enforcement personnel utilizing proven methods of detective work to get at
the truth, and not merely sitting back and making a statement that the
public
should come forward with any information they have, and leaving it at
that.That actually gives quite the wrong impression, and is not the way to
elicit confidence from the public, nor does it say much about the ability,
impartiality, desire to see justice done and competence of those charged
with
safeguarding the public's safety.
