Hello, I actually do remember this.  I actually went back through the
Gambia-l archives to look up the original postings on this.

     I also looked through Joel's website.  I didn't read through the whole
thing, though.

     I remember asking for a clarification on why the article was so
upsetting, I guess I was looking for a point by point rebuttal.  On thinking
of that, I hope I didn't offend anyone by asking questions.  I reread the
original article which caused such a controversy, and I could understand why
some might be offended.  But as someone who isn't a Gambian and thus may not
have a good understanding of Gambian culture, such a rebuttal would have
been helpful to me.

     The part of the article that did get a reaction out of me was the "4
wives and 2 girlfriends" part.  That just seemed like a sarcastic swipe and
both Islam and Gambian culture in one fell swoop.

     Anyway, just some thoughts.
