Joe,

Thanks. I agree that Bush is just interested in his best interest  and could
care less abotu Gambia and Gambians, but the Jammeh regime is trying their
damnest ot get favours from Bush and this has not happened. This is why Jammeh is
coming out with all these desperate and embicilic moves like putting. a
freeze on polygamy.
Washington may have their personal interest at heart,  but we can still make
a lot of noise that the American public can hear, ,and the investors that
Jammeh is hoping to woo are members of the general public whose attention we can
also gain.
If Tejan admitted that they have actually reported people to INS, we can use
that information as proof they are out ot get people because of their
political views. I guess the issue is whether we have access to attorneys who can act
on behalf of these people, but I think that thsi is just the begining of some
of the things this regime will engage in view of the Gambians in the diaspora
rallying behind the opposition. I think it is time we pursued an active lobby
in Washington as well as anywhere in the U.S that we can get anyones' ear.
