I'm not aware of Abdoulie Kujabi's death-RVH Administrator Ngum tells Freedom Newspaper!!!
An official of the Royal Victoria Hospital, Alhagie Baboucarr Ngum, has denied knowledge about the death of the detained former NIA boss Abdoulie Kujabi, who was said to have been hospitalized at the nation’s main hospital, few days ago after he allegedly suffered torture while in custody. Mr. Ngum’s denial followed widespread reports circulating about the death of Abdoulie Kujabi. Mr. Kujabi, who is an uncle to President Yahya Jammeh, was held together with a score of civilian and military detainees after been accused of plotting to overthrow the ruling APRC government.

NGUM SAYS HE IS NOT AWARE OF LIE
  KUJABI'S DEATH!!!
The Freedom Newspaper, received couples of phone calls and email messages from concerned Gambians, who claimed to have learned about the death of Mr. Kujabi. This paper made several attempts to verify the veracity of the report, from people close to corridors of power, but to no avail. Most of the people contacted denied knowledge about the death of Kujabi.
However, well placed state house sources told the Freedom Newspaper that Abdoulie Kujabi , was taken to the RVH, few days ago, together with other detainees, who were in a critical health condition. Sources say Kujabi was exposed to brutal torture and had little chances of surviving the beatings he suffered while in detention. Sacked Kanifing Mayor Lie Conteh was also said to have suffered torture and was hospitalized as well.
A senior health official at the RVH confirmed seeing Abdoulie Kujabi and others at the health facility on Thursday. The insider says Kujabi was in a bad condition, but could not confirm his death. “ I saw them here. But honestly speaking, his death is news to me. You can contact me later for more details. I have to contact one or two people to authenticate this report on Kujabi’s death. I’m not aware.” said the insider.
The Freedom Newspaper went as far as contacting Mr. Ngum a senior member of management of the RVH, who also told this paper that the news on Kujabi’s death was never relayed to him. “ I have not received such reports yet. The best man to give you information is Malick Mboob, our information officer or the acting Director of health. I last to be at the hospital since on Friday.” said Mr. Ngum.
Hospital information officer Malick Mboob was not available for immediate comments. As the situation appears, there is no independent confirmation to Abdoulie kujabi’s alleged death. Unless the government clears the air, observers say there is bound to be speculations and counter speculations in days to come.
Recently, the government issued a statement saying that five of the alleged coup suspects escaped while being escorted to a jail house in jangjangbureh, in the Central River Division of The Gambia. Former NIA chief Dabba Marenah, LT. Lowe and others were said to be among those who escaped from custody. Fears were raised that the men might have been summarily executed. The government however, insisted that the men were on the run and appealed to the public to help volunteer information about the fugitives whereabouts. Deputy NIA Director Ngoor Secka was detained following the escape of Marenah and others. The government accuses him of aiding the detainees to escape.
