Joe,
I hope the APRC people will NOT do anything stupid here. How can one report
the same hard working people responsible for supporting their families and
keeping the economy in Gambia afloat because of political intolerance. Is
the APRC afraid of the steady drum beat emanting in the diaspora? I think
they are better off trying to find a way to eleviate the suffering of the
masses back home than trying to rob honest Gambians from making a decent
living.
The thing that bothers me is Joe mentioned 2 employees of the Gambia Embassy
who may be behind this threat. Can you imagine our own diplomatic
representatives feeding us to the INS as oppose to protecting us. Diplomatic
missions that truely represent their citizens are lobbying congress and the
Bush admin to ease the suffering/hardships caused by 911. Just remember most
of us who are legal used to be illegal at some point. Besides being illegal
does not make one a criminal
