Mr. Gai,
You said things in a more apt manner than I would have. Reading the press
release from the PPP just now tells a lot about what Dr. Jammeh has been
trying to put across, and certainly shows to those who think that Jawara is
getting prepared just to come and be a party member, but not lead. Jawara
have always shown to us who he is.
This guy will do anything to lead that nation. His record after the 1981
speaks volumes. He does not mind how many other people suffer, as long as he
the one at the helm. Here again he is ready to come and lead the PPP. After
30 years in power, and nothing to be proud of as Gambians. I saw what Joe
Sambou said too, and these are the things the PPP need to ask themselves.
I understand that for them to regain most of their properties they lost when
the new era came have to be fought in court under the same PPP, but what
warrants them to choose Jawara as the leader again tells us that without HIM
the PPP is nothing.
Of course his leadership will alienate some of the opposition, and does the
PPP care? Obviously their behavior shows NOT.
May be this an opportunity for the APRC too lean on some of those oppositions
who will rather die than see Jawara coming back to the Gambia as a political
leader instead of what a politician/any other citizen.

Ousman Jalow Bojang.
